The following are the rules of the n00bstories IRC network. These rules apply to ALL channels on the network and override any rules made by the channel owner.

1. Warez and bot channels are forbidden on the network. You may not use the network to illegally distribute software. You also may not connect massive amounts of "bots" to the network with the purpose of flooding a channel or instucting your bots to carry out attacks.
   
   
2. You may NOT use the topic of your channel or ChanServ's welcome message to advertise another IRC network. Furthermore, you may not use any bots (Services or your own) to advertise another network. Find another way to tell people where you are, DON'T use the n00bstories IRC network to do so.
   
   

The following are the rules that must be followed when visiting the #n00bstories IRC chat room.

Failure to follow these rules may result in a kick or ban at any time for any length of time. #n00bstories Operators and Half-Operators have the right to kick you from the channel at any time for any reason at their discretion.

1. Flooding (more than 8 lines in 3 seconds, repeat more than 3 times in a row within 10 seconds) is absolutely intolerable no matter what rank in the channel you are.
   
   
2. Respect those of a higher rank than you. Insulting a channel operator or half operator is grounds for a kick or ban of immense length.
   
   
3. No whining. Notifying us of a problem is different from complaining about it. If you're kicked and you whine, you may be banned for an unspecific period of time. Kicks are a necessary part of IRC. You are not.
   
   
4. There are a number of bots allowed in the channel. None of them are yours unless you have permission from Crimson.
   
   
5. Irritating scripts (Whether or not they are irritating is decided wholly by the channel operators), and flooding of any sort is forbidden.
   
   
6. Play nice.
   
   
7. A/SOps and Hops may not ban for any reasons other than outlined in these rules. Doing so will result in loss of power for 24 hours minimum.
   
   
8. Excessive idiocy will not be permitted.
   
   
9. !setjoin command: Changing your nick to that of another channel visitor to invoke the !setjoin command is absolutely forbidden, and I can't even say the wrath of hell that will fall down upon you should you decide to do it.
   
   
10. #n00bstories supports legitimate ownership and playing of game titles, so conversations or activities that do not support this concept will result in a channel ban. That means no discussion about how to cheat, nor discussions of piracy of games.
    
    
11. The conversation may get disgusting, rude, or crude, but nothing is more disgusting, rude, or crude than hearing you whine about it. Use the "X" button to our advantage.
    
    
12. Posting links to pictures of dead humans, dead animals if extremely graphic (bloody, disfigurement of corpse, decay), feces, vomit, or nudity (including "goatse", and excluding female topless) is inappropriate and the length of your ban or loss of power will be relative to how disgusting the picture is.
    
    

For the channel operators:

-Channel Modes: Channel modes are fine. Don't forget to remove them in short time.
-Use of the channel shun mask: A great way to shut someone up who is starting to break the rules.
-Touching the sop/aop/hop/vop/akick lists makes you die, unless in accordance with rule #6
-Heirarchy: Sops have the power to decide if you warrant a removal of your powers for a length of time. This applies to AOPs, HOPs, and VOPs.
-Promotions will be granted upon completion of a challenging and sexual gauntlet. Since we probably don't swing that way, you probably won't get promoted. So don't ask.
- Operators (+o) are immune from rules 2 and 8, though Crimson will moderate problems between ops pertinent to rule #2.
- Operators private conversation (wallchops) is intended to be private. Sharing words posted by other ops to people who are NOT ops is highly disrespectful and intolerable.
