I have always had Renegade installed on my new computers everytime and running perfectly but here is the issue I have at the moment.
After having problems with Renguard and other stuff with Renegade on Windows 7 I gave up trying around 6 months ago. (ive had this computer for two years. I regret I uninstalled it a year back
But a week ago I tried Renegade and it worked perfectly and was really excited. Today when I just had restarted the computer I got a virus warning from my AVG Anti-Virus about two backdoor trojans, and they were found in the Game.exe file. I had no idea what those virus came from, but the program wanted me to remove them so I did. and after that I tired to Start Renegade through the Shortcut
C:\Westwood\Renegade\Renegade.exe +connect 74.53.69.242:6978 +NetPlayerName "Name"
And it came to my mind I had virus in "Game.exe file so I went into the folder and found it gone.
Now here is the confusing thing, I can't really find the CD. I think I know where the CD-key is. But I just wanted to check here if there is any "Repair" program for Renegade or if anyone knows if it's possible to get the "Game.exe" from the net?
Regards Chris

I think this is allowed, since game.exe and game2.exe are useless without the needed Renegade files. See my attachment.
Note: This is the game.exe that RenGuard uses. I also have a game2.exe which may be the actual Renegade game.exe. Let me know if this doesn't work and I'll see what I can do to upload the other one.
By the way, AVG sucks and you probably have a false positive. Check your virus vault for the old game.exe. If it's there, restore it and add an exception in your antivirus db.

Thanks for the quick post!
I checked in the virus history and I found this:
C:/Westwood/Renegade.exe Infection: Trojan Horse Backdoor.Generic1
x2
however and I restored them and I got the same message, and even if I ignore them they always pop up, since this shitty program I can't find where to put the program to Ignore the "virus"
Ill try to delete these and use your "Game.exe" if that dosen't work ill just restore them and ignore the rest.
EDIT: I got the same message and it gotta be a fake warning.

Yeah, it worked with your game.exe man. Got the file back now and Renegade is running as normal, I have disabled the Resident Shield.
Thanks for your help man!

Get a better Anti Virus. I can recommend this: http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/security_essentials/default.a spx
-FREE
-Light weight on your PC's resources
-Non intrusive operation
-Goes after spyware and viruses
-Straight forward options for configuration
-Updates come automatically or through Windows Update
-Did I mention it is free?
I have never had this AV classify Renegade as a virus.
